The corpse of a drowned girl has been recovered from Osun-Gbodofon River in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
A large crowd of passers-by and residents gathered at the scene.
A senior fire superintendent who led the operation, said officers mobilised to the scene of the incident, immediately they got the distress call.
The police has since taken the body away, but the parents or guardians of the deceased are yet to be identified.
