Social media influencers Peter for Nigeria and Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, have been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after honouring the agency’s invitation over allegations of naira abuse.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by their lawyer, Inibehe Effiong.
According to the lawyer, the EFCC had invited the duo through separate letters dated June 24, asking them to appear before the commission on July 6 to clarify allegations of naira abuse.
Effiong said the meeting was rescheduled to July 15 after the defence informed the commission that his clients would be unavailable on the initial date.
He explained that he accompanied Peter for Nigeria and Mama Pee to the EFCC headquarters on Wednesday, where they met with investigators and cooperated with the investigation before being released.
