President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday for a working visit ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations.
According to a statement from Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President’s trip to Lagos comes shortly after attending the coronation ceremony of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State.
During his stay, President Tinubu is expected to engage with prominent private sector leaders and top government officials to review key economic strategies and assess ongoing national initiatives.
As part of his Independence Day itinerary, Tinubu will also visit Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, to inaugurate several infrastructure projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
In a major highlight of the national celebrations, the President will formally unveil the newly renovated National Theatre, now rebranded as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.

The statement reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday on a working visit to the former seat of government as Nigeria prepares for a low-key 65th Independence Anniversary.
“The President moved to Lagos after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in the ancient city of Ibadan in Oyo State.
“While in Lagos, President Tinubu would meet with players in Nigeria’s private sector and senior government officials.
“He will visit Imo on Tuesday, September 30, to commission projects done by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
“As part of the Independence anniversary, the President will also commission the remodelled National Theatre, which has been renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.”
