Three children have died in a riverine community of Delta state, owing to rising floodwaters which destroyed homes and has taken over Polo-Bubo.
Locals are calling for urgent assistance, and say the only clinic in the village is already overcrowded.
Polo-Bubo is predominantly a fishing community in Warri North local government area but today it is under water.
There is palpable grief and the stories of tragic loss come one after another.
The victims included a girl and two boys Annabel, Gift and Praise-God.
The were aged between two, four and five years respectively. Two of the children were born to separate families
Worshipers who would normally gather for their services at their church now find themselves immersed in desperate steps to save their building.
The church is not the only place impacted. Farmlands, schools and several other places are in distress.
Community leaders insist the disaster is man made and blame an oil company operating in the area although the company was not available for comment when tried to be reached
It is feared that if urgent measures are not taken to bring relief, the flooding crisis in Polo-Bubo may go from bad to worse.
