Thobile Mbolikwa wins first African Ultra Marathon race

Nigerian athletes, Ilya Pam and Elizabeth Nuhu-Powa have ensured that foreign athletes did not make a clean sweep of the first African Ultra Marathon race in Remo Ogun State.

In the men’s category Thobile Mbolikwa of South Africa emerged champion.

Mbolikwa cross the finishing line in a time of three hours and two seconds.

Prosper Mutiriwa of Zimbabwe came second, while Ilya Pam came third.

In the women’s event it was a South African first and third.

Sanilisiwe Mbagwa came out tops ahead of Nuhu-Powa in second place while Leilani Scheffer cane in third.
