Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a joint security position near Muna, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, killing an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service and injuring several soldiers from the 195 Battalion.

Sources say the incident happened around 2 a.m. on November 30, when the insurgents stormed a location known as “Charly Company” and opened fire on personnel manning the post.

A reinforcement team was immediately deployed, prompting the attackers to retreat into the surrounding bush.

Security forces have since intensified patrols in the area, while investigations into the attack continue.
