The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced the death of four persons following an attack by a suspected terrorist group at one of its facilities under construction in Kangiwa Local Government of Kebbi State.
The information was contained in a Statement by the spokesperson of the Service DCI KT Udo in Abuja.
The Service said the four dead persons are three people working for its contractor and a local vigilante operative.
It added that though no immigration personnel were killed during the attack but its security facilities at the site sugffered extensive damage.
The Service extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and restated its commitment to the fulfilmernt of its core mandate of protecting the border from Illegal migrants and security threats.

The service regrets to announce a recent attack by a suspected terrorist group on our facilities and contractors on site, at the Kangiwa border in Kangiwa local government area of Kebbi State at about about 1920 hours on Friday 10th, January 2025.
The attack led to the death of four persons, including a local Watchman and three contractors. We also recorded substantial damages on our security facilities. No immigration officers were killed during the attack.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. We are actively working alongside our sister agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to justice.
The service remains resolute and undeterred in carrying on with its core mandate of border security in tandem with the goal of securing the nation.
