A group of students known as Coalition of Yoruba Students and Youth Movement have taken to the streets to protest what they described as the continuous sabotage of the Dangote refinery by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and other petroleum associations.
The students who started the protest in Iwo road heading towards the office of the governor of Oyo state expressed concern over what it called “unpatriotic attacks and blackmail” by the oil unions against the Dangote Refinery, describing the facility as “a national asset and symbol of industrial hope.
The coalition appealed to the Federal Government to take decisive action to protect the refinery and ensure its sustainability, emphasizing that the success of local refining is key to ending fuel importation and boosting Nigeria’s economy.
