Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has visited victims of the recent deadly explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State, as the Federal Government ramps up its response to renewed terror attacks.
The visit comes amid growing concern over security in the North-East, following Monday’s blasts that left dozens dead and many more injured.
Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to assess the aftermath of the multiple explosions that rocked the city earlier this week.
At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, the Vice President met with victims receiving treatment, offering words of comfort and reassurance to families affected by the tragedy.

The attacks, which occurred on Monday, left more than 100 people affected, with over 20 confirmed dead—one of the deadliest incidents in the region in recent months.

Condemning the violence, the Vice President described the perpetrators as barbaric, insisting that no cause justifies the killing of innocent civilians.
He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s determination to confront and defeat terrorism, disclosing that beyond presidential directives to security chiefs, additional investments are being made in military equipment and logistics to strengthen ongoing operations.
The Vice President also assured victims of continued government support, with agencies including the National Emergency Management Agency and the North East Development Commission mobilised to provide relief and assistance in collaboration with the Borno State Government.
He was accompanied on the visit by Borno State Deputy Governor Usman Kadafur, NEMA Director-General Zubaida Umar, and other senior officials.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to support victims and track down those responsible, as security agencies intensify operations to prevent further attacks in the region.
