Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived on Friday at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi to represent President Bola Tinubu at the funeral prayer of the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

The respected cleric passed away on Thursday, prompting a gathering of thousands of sympathisers, religious leaders, and top government officials for the burial, which will follow Islamic rites.

Shettima’s delegation includes key government figures such as the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate; and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.

Also in attendance are Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, Senator Shehu Buba, and former Bauchi State Governor Ahmed Mu’azu.
