Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the gubernatorial aspiration of Seyi Tinubu, the son of the president.
Bwala, during a podcast session on Clarity Zone hosted by popular TV host Chinedu Ani, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, stressed that just like every other Nigerian citizen, Seyi Tinubu can contest for the Lagos State gubernatorial seat.
Bwala reiterated that, Seyi being the son of the president, doesn’t limit his political ambition, expressing further that if he meets the constitutional requirement, he can contest against his father.
“If Seyi Tinubu’s father is the president, what stops him from running for Lagos State governor? Seyi Tinubu can even challenge his father in the next election.
“He’s humble and unassuming. He has maintained long-standing friendships and helped many young people secure opportunities in government, even across party lines. At one point, he was even criticised for the people he brought into government, who were mostly Obidients. That tells you he doesn’t have biases,” Bwala Clarified.

Also, during the podcast, when questioned on his perception of Seyi, Bwala extolled the characteristics he portrays in society and how he addresses criticisms.
“You will never see him attacking people on social media. He has built relationships even with critics of this government.
“Unlike many children of past Nigerian leaders, Seyi Tinubu has not been associated with scandals. Until you experience somebody, don’t have an opinion of them,” Bwala concluded.
