The Senate has summoned the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, over the visa on arrival policy announced by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aswan Forum in Egypt.
He will brief the committees on judiciary and interior on the policy, which would commence in January 2020, and is aimed at encouraging free movement in Africa.

It is also expected to aid the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement signed by the president in July.
While debating the matter, some lawmakers highlighted the need for proper domestication of the policy, which requires appropriate legislative backing.
