Meanwhile, Hoodlums suspected to be loyal to some powerful individuals in the Oruku community of the Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State who are at war with neighbouring communities have razed 10 houses.

Reports has it that the crisis started on December 25 and the morning of Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

The hoodlums reportedly burnt the Palace of the late traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Emmanuel Mba, who was killed by paid operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactical Squad on December 26, 2020 by some powerful community leaders.

Other houses affected are the house of the former local government chairman, Nkanu East Local Government, Honourable Ejike Ani, and his younger brother, Agozie Ani.

An unidentified man was also said to have been killed in the course of burning of the houses by the hoodlums.

Oruku is in the Enugu East Senatorial district of Enugu State and the crisis will be watched with fear and trepidation by Locals who have had to live through an unprecedented level of violence since the Start of the Monday Sit-At-Home of the Indigenous People of Biafra in the South East.

Most observers have blamed members of the Armed wing of the proscribed IPOB, known as the ESN or so called Unknown gunmen.
