UEFA has announced that Russia will host the 2023 European Super Cup despite a ban on the country by World Anti-Doping Agency on hosting major competitions.
The European governing body revealed on Monday that the season opening clash between winners of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League will take place at the Kazan Arena.
Russia who were imposed with a four year ban by WADA for state sponsored doping, are already listed to host a number of matches during this year’s European Championships.
