The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission is to unveil the timetable and guidelines for the rescheduled Local Government Election in the State.
Stakeholders are converging on the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt for the start of the event.
It will be recalled that the RSIEC had conducted a Local Government Election across the State in 2024 but was declared illegal by the Supreme Court in its judgment on the Political crisis in the State.
The State Independent Electoral Comnmission rescheduled the Elections to ensure their is no vacuum at the third tier iof government though it remains to be seen if this will also go ahead following the escalation of the face off between the State Governor and the House of Assembly.
