The nationwide strike by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors is set to be suspended, bringing relief to patients and easing pressure on the country’s healthcare system.

A source within the association’s executive has confirmed to our correspondent that plans are underway to officially call off the industrial action later today, following renewed engagements with key stakeholders.

The decision comes after an intervention by Mr. Seyi Tinubu, who reportedly assured the doctors that outstanding allowances owed to them will be settled.

The less than 24 hour strike had disrupted regular services across public hospitals nationwide.

With this latest development, normal services are expected to resume fully by Wednesday, as authorities move to address the doctors’ demands and prevent further disruptions in the health sector.
