The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Dankwara Adamu Mohammed as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) to represent the North-East geopolitical zone.

He replaces retired DIG Sahabu Abubakar Yahaya.

The Commission also promoted Commissioner of Police (CP) Abibo Deinma Reuben to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), and 11 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioners.

Those promoted to Commissioner include Naziru Bello Kankarofi, Nendel Joseph Gomwalk, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, Wilson Aniefiok Akpan, Morkwap Dongshal, Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf, Cletus Nwadiogbu, Ahmed Mohammed Bello, Abdulraheem Nurudeen, Patrick Daaor, and Umar Mohammed Hadejia.

Thirteen Assistant Commissioners were elevated to Deputy Commissioners, while 44 Chief Superintendents were promoted to Assistant Commissioners. In addition, 412 Superintendents rose to Chief Superintendents, and several Deputy Superintendents were also promoted.

The promotions were approved at the Commission’s second plenary meeting held at the Solomon Arase Conference Hall, presided over by PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), alongside Honourable Commissioners and senior officials.

Argungu congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rededicate themselves to national service and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
