The Nigeria Police Force has issued a nationwide directive enforcing the immediate withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escorts, in line with a presidential order.
Under the new directive, Commissioners of Police across all states have been instructed to arrest any officer found escorting VIPs without authorisation.
Supervising officers who fail to enforce the order will also face disciplinary action.
The Force has mandated strict compliance and monitoring, emphasising that only designated special squads are permitted to handle such assignments moving forward.
