The Police in Sokoto state have confirmed the attack carried out by armed bandits on the town of Balle, headquarters of Gudu local government area of Sokoto state. In the attack, a traditional ruler, Sarkin Yamman Balle was killed.
The command’s Public Relations Officer Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq confirm this to TVCNEWS via a telephone interview.
The state Commissioner of police also visited the town but refused to talk to the press. Sources within the police also confirmed that a Mobile police officer posted to the local government was killed in the attack.

The source revealed that the assailants are allegedly from neighbouring countries and have been operating in the bushes of Tangaza and Gudu for the past three years.
Gudu local government area of Sokoto state borders Niger Republic around Kurdula in Nigeria and Dogon Dutse in Niger Republic and both towns have been transacting business with one another for years.
The traditional ruler who was the District Head of Balle has been buried according to Islamic rites.
