Presidential candidate of the People’s democratic party has abandoned his participation in the widely anticipated presidential debate organised by the Broadcasters organisation of Nigeria.
Atiku Abubakar walked out of the Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja, venue of the debate on grounds that his main challenger at the polls President Muhammadu Buhari was absent.
The PDP flagbearer just returned from a highly publicized trip to the United States and even tweeted about his eagerness to debate alongside other presidential candidates.
Candidates of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Young Progressives Party and Alliance for a New Nigeria took part in the debate.
