Residents of Isua-Akoko in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State are following a wave of abduction plaguing the agrarian community.
Residents trooped out in large numbers to protest the growing insecurity, expressing deep frustration over the development.
Speaking on the situation, the Youth President of Akoko South East Local Government Area, Hon. Umoru Kamoru, lamented that the persistent attacks have severely hampered economic activities in the farming community.
He called on the state government to urgently deploy more security operatives to restore peace, warning that the crisis is spiralling out of control.
Also addressing the protest, the Youth President of Isua-Akoko. Abimbola Oluwafemi appealed to security agencies to brace up.
According to him, the recent gruesome murder of a youth leader—reportedly killed after ransom had been paid—sparked the protest.

The incident occurred when about six armed men stormed the community and attacked residents who were returning to their homes.
During the attack, the assailants opened fire on a man identified as John Ofuduwa as he was driving into his residence, leaving him with a gunshot injury.
In the course of the shooting, the gunmen also abducted a neighbour, Oladeinde Tomilola, who was about to enter her compound, and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
