The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four suspects over the alleged assault and public humiliation of a resident whose video was reportedly recorded without his consent and circulated on social media.
Police spokesperson said the complainant, Boluwaji Temidayo, reported the incident at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday, July 23, 2026, alleging that he was attacked by a group of persons on July 21 before the assault was filmed and shared online.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, ordered a technology-driven forensic investigation, leading to the arrest of four suspects identified as Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi.
The suspects are in police custody and have reportedly made confessional statements, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other alleged accomplices. Police said they will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The command condemned the growing trend of jungle justice and the circulation of videos depicting assaults on social media, warning that such actions violate constitutional rights and may attract criminal liability under Nigeria’s cybercrime laws.
The commissioner urged residents to report suspected offenders to the police rather than resort to violence or public humiliation, reaffirming the command’s commitment to protecting citizens’ rights and ensuring justice is pursued through lawful means.
