The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State has held a meeting with Stakeholders in order to have a smooth and peaceful elections in the state.
The meeting was attended by security chiefs, Resident Electoral Commissioner of the State and representatives of Political parties.
The police boss urged residents of the state to support the security agencies and other Stakeholders’ involved in the preparation for the 2023 General Election.
He noted that the Police is working closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission to get required data that will allow them plan for the safety of the people before, during and after the exercise.
He also warned politicians to avoid things that may lead to breakdown of law and order.
On the part of the electoral body, the resident electoral Commissioner wants people to people to collect their permanent voter cards from the Commission and keep to the rules guiding the conduct of Elections.
Other participants want politicians to avoid things that may lead to the breakdown of law and order during the campaigns and after the elections.
