The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has suspended a former Governor of the state and the senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, alongside one Kunle Folarin.

The duo were suspended for alleged anti-party misconduct.

The Director of Publicity of the state chapter of the ruling party, Nuberu Olufemi made this known through a press statement issued to journalists in the state.

According to the statement, the decision to suspend Gbenga Daniel and Kunle Folarin, both members of the APC from Ward 4 and Ward 6 in Sagamu Local Government Area, respectively, was taken at the State Working Committee meeting held on Tuesday and presided over by the state chairman, Yemi Sanusi.

When contacted, the media aide to the Senator, Steve Oliyide confirmed that they are just reading the news on social media just like every other person.

He said “we are only reading about this on Facebook just like everyone else in Ogun State; there was no time the Senator was invited by any disciplinary committee of the party.

He added “If there is a Governor who has a penchant for disrespect for the President of Nigeria and has evolved a process of Governance and Party administration through the social media, there is a Senator who has enormous respect for the person and office of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country. The Senator will not react to issues concerning his alleged Facebook suspension”
