The Nigerian Military authorities have disclosed plans by hoodlums to disguise as soldiers with the intention of disrupting the off-cycle elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States.

This is just as troops and military assets have been deployed support the police in the conduct of the polls.

It’s less than 48 hours to the commencement of the off-cycle elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states and the military authorities say intelligence indicates there are plots to disrupt the process.

Beyond the elections, the Defence Media Chief, Major General Edward Buba says troops have killed 113 terrorists in the various theatres of operations.

Last week equally witnessed an uptick in terrorist activities in the north east.

On Sunday, attacks left 15 farmers dead while an unspecified number of them were abducted in villages in Mafa Local Council, about 15 km from the Borno State capital Maiduguri.

The attacks came barely a week after at least 40 villagers were killed in Gaidam, Yobe State.

But military authorities say operations will take a new dimension.
