The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is introducing new strategies and innovations aimed at improving the efficiency and impact of its Orientation Courses, the Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has announced.
Speaking at the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Orientation Course Workshop in Abuja, Nafiu said the event, themed “Strengthening the Orientation Course Framework for Greater Relevance and Impact on National Service,” will review previous Orientation exercises, generate new ideas, and adopt best practices to make future courses more effective.
He described the Orientation Course as a critical foundation for a successful service year, noting that it shapes Corps Members’ first impressions of the Scheme and their states of deployment.
“This workshop theme reflects our desire to reposition the Orientation Course as a more dynamic, responsive, and impactful phase of the National Service. To achieve this, we must be willing to critically review our ways of doing things, fine-tune our approaches, and evolve new ones,” Nafiu said.
