The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has deployed 250 armed personnel to schools to provide security for students and teachers in the liberated seven local government areas of Adamawa state.
NSCDC Commandant for Adamawa State, Aliyu Musa Ndanusa has also assured parents of the safety of their children saying the corps will tackle any kidnap threat in the state.
He said the Commandant -General of the corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has directed the state command to step up its operations and safeguard schools in the state.

He added that troops of the corps have been trained in counter terrorism operations, assuring that kidnap attempts will be nipped in the bud henceforth.
The Seven local government areas earmarked as pilot operational areas, include Gombi, Hong, Maiha, Mubi north, Mubi South, Michika and Madagali.
Stakeholders have lauded the deployment of troops to schools, saying parents and teachers can now heave a sigh of relief.
