Enugu state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested a two -man gang Rail line vandals in Aniri local government area of the state
While parading the suspects, the state commandant of the corps, Aloysius Obiorah says the cooperation of the public in offering credible information is key to a successful war against criminality in the state
Rail line vandalism has been on the increase in some states of the country and these act is no doubt affecting the country’s revenue base.
To curb the spread of vandalism all hands must be on deck to Checkmate the menace.
In the bid to keep to its mandate, the NSCDC Enugu command, again arrested these 2 rail line vandals in Aniri local government area of the state.
The commandant of the corps commended the collaboration of members of the state Hunters and Forest Guards Security services on the arrest, and just as expected, the suspects confessed to the crime, but regretted their action.
The NSCDC commandant used the platform to announce that it has secured a 3-tear jail term each for two pipeline vandals who were caught in May 2022 for vandalising NNPC transportation pipeline in Nkanu West LGA, with a view of oil theft.
Items recovered from the rail line vandals includes 77 Rail line boat and Nuts, 1 iron pipe, a digger 2 containers of Hydroulic acid containers, 1 machetes, 1 Rig Spanner and others.
