Gusau Emirate Council in Zamfara state has pledged its Commitment to supporting the National Open University of Nigeria in students’ enrollment.

The Emir of Gusau Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Bello disclosed this while receiving members of the Governing Council of the University, at his palace.

Correspondent Ibrahim Bello reports that  Zamfara State was rated low on the number of students enrolling in tertiary institutions when compared to other states in Nigeria which is why the university has come up with this strategy to vigorously increase its intake of students.

The Emir of Gusau Ibrahim Bello promised that the emirate committee on tertiary institutions would work with the University to enlighten the public on the advantages of studying in the University.

The Emir advised the committee to liaise with media organizations to promote the activities and programmes of the institution.

Zamfara State Government also expressed its commitment of continuous engagement with the School by looking into possibilities of sponsoring state indigenes to undergo degrees and postgraduates studies.
