The Board Chairman of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response (NOSDRA), Mr Edward Omo-Erewa has pledged to reposition the Agency and restore public confidence in the preservation of the environment and ecosystem.
Mr Omo-Erewa stated this at a strategic meeting with Board Members and Management staff of NOSDRA in Abuja.
The inaugural Meeting focused on improved performance rating, regulatory capacity and efficiency as well as environmental responsibility, among others.
The Board as constituted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the responsibilities of oversight, leadership governance, and capacity to mitigate oil spill incidents and enforce effective environmental frameworks across the country.
Mr Edward Omo-Erewa outlined three core values to include: strengthening communication and implementing the National Oil Spill Contigency Plan and rebuilding Public Trust through stakeholder engagement.
