Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Olumide Egbedun, has denied receiving or authorising any letter concerning the rotation of chairmanship among traditional rulers in Osun State.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Olumide Tiamiyu, the Speaker said that at no time was such a matter presented to or considered by the House or its Committee on Chieftaincy Matters, describing the claim as entirely fabricated and not reflective of the legislative activities or records of the Assembly.
Rt. Hon. Olumide Egbedun unequivocally dismissed the publication circulating on a pseudo Facebook page as false and misleading.
He noted that the page is engaged in deliberate mischief by spreading unfounded information aimed at misleading the public, creating unnecessary tension, and undermining the credibility of the Osun State House of Assembly.
The Speaker reiterated that the Assembly conducts its affairs strictly in line with constitutional provisions and established legislative procedures, urging residents to completely disregard the baseless publication.
