Image result for Nigerian youths urged to join anti-corruption campaignNigerian youths have been challenged to come all out and join the campaign against corruption in order to protect their futureThe charge was made at a forum put together to mark the 2019 international Anti- corruption day.

Helen Osamede-Akins reports that corruption is a malaise that undermines social and economic development in societies.

Despite Nigeria’s natural and human resource endowments, corruption has been a major factor obstructing it’s sustainable development.  Its effects are felt across all spheres of life and many say the youth are usually at the receiving end.

To mark the 2019 international anti-corruption day,  a non-governmental group brings together youths who they believed are the most affected by corruption to educate them on why they need to take a stand against the malaise.

Speakers at the event believed that, for the fight against corruption to be successful, social structures must be put in place.

December 9th is a day set aside to mark the international Anti-corruption Day.

The theme for this year is ” TOGETHER WE CAN FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION.”
