Market Traders Association of Nigeria has lamented the hardship being faced by its members due to the imposition of multiple taxation by government revenue agencies.
The body wants the situation changed in order to avert continuous increase in prices of goods which has been causing hardship for people in the Society.
Th Traders who met at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan from across Nigeria who came to the ancient city to witness the flag off of Benefit Scheme Enrollment for Traders.
The event was also an avenue to inaugurate the chapters of the association in the southwest states and to submit their data, in order to enable them have access to opportunities.
The leadership of the Association said the event was also targeted at addressing the issue of multiple taxation.
The Chairman, project Committee of the scheme said the activities of illegal tax collectors must be checked, in order to block leackages, noting that the Federal Government is currently losing huge amount of money.
They assured the association that plan are on ground to enumerate all traders across the country, in order to allow them have access to Government’s welfare programmes.
