President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commenced a historic two-day State Visit to Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, reinforcing the long-standing relationship between the two nations and advancing Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the global stage.

The visit underscored a renewed commitment to cooperation in agriculture, aviation, energy, technology, cultural exchange, and the creative economy.

During the visit, both countries signed landmark agreements and Memoranda of Understanding aimed at driving sustainable growth and creating opportunities for citizens of Nigeria and Brazil.

The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, accompanied President Tinubu as part of the official delegation.

Her participation reaffirmed the Ministry’s strategic vision that cultural diplomacy and the creative economy are vital instruments for international partnership, national pride, and sustainable development.

Among the most notable achievements of the visit was the signing of a Bilateral Air Services Agreement, paving the way for direct flights between Lagos and São Paulo.

This breakthrough is expected to enhance trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and business opportunities, while strengthening historical ties between the two nations.

The visit also advanced the $1.1 billion Green Imperative Mechanisation Project, which will deliver tractors and modern farming equipment assembled in Nigeria.

This initiative is designed to create jobs, empower local farmers, and strengthen food security nationwide.

Further agreements were reached in areas of science, technology, renewable energy, and digital innovation—sectors that will expand opportunities for Nigeria’s youth in creative and technology industries, encourage innovation, and provide modern platforms for preserving cultural heritage.

In his remarks, President Tinubu emphasized a future of shared progress anchored on food sovereignty, technology transfer, and knowledge exchange.

He assured investors of Nigeria’s commitment to reforms that foster transparency, competitiveness, and growth.

President Lula highlighted the deep cultural and historical bonds between Nigeria and Brazil, describing them as the foundation for stronger South-South cooperation.

Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa lauded President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, describing the State Visit as a demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action. She stressed that placing culture and creativity at the heart of diplomacy elevates Nigeria’s global influence, fosters enduring partnerships, and empowers citizens with opportunities for prosperity.
