The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended Christmas greetings to Nigerians at home and abroad, saying the country has remained resilient despite economic and security challenges faced during the outgoing year.
In a Christmas message released on Thursday, the party said 2025 had been a year of “difficult but necessary transitions”, marked by economic reforms, security pressures and global headwinds. It said these developments had tested the resolve of both citizens and government.
According to the statement, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had confronted the nation’s challenges “head-on”, rather than avoiding them.
The party criticised sections of the opposition, accusing them of predicting economic collapse, unrest and instability that “failed to materialise”. It alleged that some political actors engaged in “demarketing Nigeria” locally and internationally for partisan gain.
Despite these tensions, the Lagos APC said Nigeria had remained stable, with democratic institutions intact and what it described as “early signs of economic stabilisation”. It also commended the security forces for what it called strategic gains.
Describing Christmas as both a celebration of faith and resilience, the party urged Nigerians to reject cynicism and recommit to national unity, adding that political competition should not cross into sabotage.
It reaffirmed support for President Tinubu’s reform agenda, noting that structural adjustments are often painful but necessary for progress.
The statement concluded by calling for renewed hope, unity and patriotism during the festive season.
