Motorists along Owerri-Onisha roads have commended the Federal Government for its intervention in rehabilitating some failed portion of Federal roads in the South East region.
They spoke to Journalists shortly after the Road maintenance agency team inspected repair works on the failed section of the road.
In line with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, the Federal road maintenance agency came up with a special intervention programme to repair some bad portions on Federal roads across the country tagged “operation connect to your destination”
Failed sections of Owerri-Onitsha highway, 2 sections of Amorka-Ozara-Ohakpu road linking up to Owerri-Onitsha dual carriage way measuring 3.1 kilometers have been repaired.
Some road users applauded the effort of the Federal Government for fixing the roads that are affecting the socio-economic activities in the region.
For the inspection team leader for Enugu, Imo and Anambra States, Chijioke Ukpabi, the Federal Government is determined to intervene in critical roads across the country.
With the commitment of FERMA, residents are hoping more roads in the South East region will be fix to reduce economic loss on the country’s highways.
