Three-year-old Keyne, the younger half-brother of Spain star Lamine Yamal, has emerged as one of the unexpected stars of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, winning the hearts of football fans with his infectious celebrations and touching moments alongside his older brother.

According to Yahoo Sports, the toddler has repeatedly gone viral throughout Spain’s journey to the World Cup final, with his animated reactions in the stands and emotional reunions with Yamal after matches attracting widespread attention on social media.

The Brother Yamal Says ‘Means Everything’

Born in September 2022, Keyne is the son of Yamal’s mother, Sheila Ebana, following her separation from Yamal’s father, Mounir Nasraoui.

The Barcelona winger has often reflected on his humble upbringing and the sacrifices his parents made while raising him.

“Look, my mum had me when she was 16,” Yamal said during an interview with Cadena SER, as reported by *The Athletic*. “My dad also had to go out and look for a life.”

Speaking on the Resonancia de Corazón con Jose Ramon de la Morena podcast, the Spain international revealed that seeing his younger brother enjoy a happier childhood has become one of his greatest motivations.

“I came from an apartment where the kitchen and bedroom were in the same place,” he said. “[Now,] I see my mother happy, I see that my brother can have the childhood I would have wanted, and that’s what makes me happiest.”

Following Spain’s Round of 32 victory over Austria, Yamal became emotional while discussing his family.

“I’m moved when I see my little brother this happy, as well as seeing my mum and friends living the life they always dreamed of,” he said, according to *The Athletic*.

“My little brother means everything to me. I am in love with him; it feels like he is my son.”

A Viral Sensation at the World Cup

Keyne has become a familiar face during Spain’s World Cup campaign despite being just three years old.

One of his earliest viral moments came after Spain defeated Austria, when a supporter posted a video on X showing the youngster enthusiastically shouting “Vamos!” while celebrating the victory.

He was again spotted during Spain’s quarter-final triumph over Belgium after television cameras captured him making funny faces and sticking out his tongue on the stadium’s giant screen. Yamal looked up, noticed his younger brother and burst into laughter, creating another heartwarming moment that quickly spread across social media.

Following Spain’s 2-0 semi-final victory over France, cameras once again focused on Keyne as he enthusiastically waved towards his older brother after the final whistle, with the image widely shared by football outlets.

Supporting His Brother From the Start

According to Yahoo Sports, Keyne’s appearances alongside Yamal did not begin at the World Cup.

The youngster celebrated on the pitch with his brother after Spain lifted the UEFA Euro 2024 trophy and has regularly attended Barcelona matches.

After Barcelona’s victory over Athletic Club in August 2024, Keyne joined Yamal on the pitch, where the pair shared playful moments kicking a football together.

The following year, he was also seen playing with the young son of Barcelona teammate Raphinha after another match.

He even stole part of the spotlight at the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony, where Yamal collected the Kopa Trophy, by happily playing with a UEFA Champions League ball on the red carpet while the rest of the family posed for photographs.

As Spain prepares to face Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final, Yamal will once again carry the hopes of a nation.

For Keyne, however, the occasion is much simpler.

Beyond the records, trophies and global attention, he will be watching his biggest hero—his older brother.
