The Labour Party has inaugurated former Minister of Finance, Nenadi Usman, as its Interim National Chairman and Nwokocha Darlington as interim national secretary.
This is as Nenadi Usman led faction of the party held a special session of its national executive council on Friday.
The National executive council led by Nenadi Usman, ratified the interim leadership of the Labour Party and announced plans to hold ward and state congresses.
Interim National Secretary, Darlington Nwokocha, called for unity, urging aggrieved members to sheath their swords.
The party also dismissed speculation that it is planning to join a political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The high-level meeting had in attendance prominent party stakeholders, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu and several other key figures within the party.
Others in attendance include the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, and the Chairman of the BoT, Chief Sylvester Ejiofor, who sent a representative.
Governor Alex Otti appealed to Julius Abure and other factions to support the new leadership, insisting on party supremacy.
The NEC also clarified that Peter Obi acted independently at a recent coalition event, stating the party is not in any alliance with the opposition coalition.
With these resolutions, the Labour Party is now more concerned about resolving internal wranglings that already threatens to tear apart the party.
Speaking at the NEC meeting , Otti, who addressed stakeholders at the session, said the interim leadership was necessary to lay a proper foundation for rebuilding the party, adding that there is a need to reset the party for stability and growth after months of legal battles and internal strife.
