The Kogi State House of Assembly has passed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, approving a total budget estimate of ₦820,490,585,443 for the state.

Governor Usman Ododo had earlier presented the 2026 budget proposal, titled “Budget of Shared Prosperity: Driving Sustainable Growth for All,” to the State House of Assembly.

The 2026 budget represents a significant increase over the 2025 budget and, according to analysts, places strong emphasis on infrastructure development, human capital advancement, and economic growth.

Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, said the bill was passed on Tuesday during plenary.

He added that the Speaker of the House, Aliyu Umar, commended lawmakers for their dedication and teamwork, which ensured the timely passage of the budget.

The Speaker also appreciated the management and staff of the Assembly, as well as other stakeholders, for their support and contributions to the successful legislative process.
