Armed thugs have attacked a polling unit in Ayetoro Gbede community, shooting sporadically into the air and destroyed ballot boxes.
Ayetoro is the country home of the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples’s Democratic Party, Dino Melaye.
The gunmen, in a short video made available to TVC News, arrived the scene in a hilux van unmasked and shot sporadically into the air to scare away voters and security officers attached to the polling station.
- Meanwhile, the centre for Democracy and development and Youth initiative for advocacy growth and advancement have condemned, intimidation and harassment of voters in Kogi state .
- Addressing a press conference in Lokoja to give its preliminary report on the election, the groups said there were reports of voters intimidation leading to disruption of the process in some locations.
