Traditional rulers from the 458 autonomous communities of Enugu state on Thursday converged on government house to thank governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for facilitating the release of their colleague, the traditional ruler of Obom Autonomous Community, Sunday Orji and his wife.
The freed monarch and his wife were in the captors den for about four days.
The traditional rulers meeting with the Governor is not unconnected with the rising state of insecurity across the country and the need for them to consolidate on the proposed bill of Anti-Kidnapping bill that was forwarded to the state house of Assembly.
The bill, among other things, will consider the need for the creation of neighbourhood watch security guards
The traditional rulers who came with their full traditional complement are delighted with mix feelings of ensuring they are adequately equipped to guard their various communities.
It would be recalled that the traditional ruler of Obom Autonomous Community in Agbogugu, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Sunday Orji and his wife, were kidnapped on Sunday, but regain their their freedom on Wednesday Evening.
