The Commissioner for Transportation in Kano State, Ibrahim Namadi, has stepped down from his position following investigations into his alleged involvement in the controversial bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Danwawu.

His resignation came shortly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf received the report of the committee set up to probe the incident.

In a statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sanusi Bature, the former Commissioner stated that his decision to resign was in the overriding public interest, given the sensitive nature of the matter.

Governor Yusuf has accepted the resignation, commending Namadi’s service and wishing him well in his future endeavours. The Governor also emphasized the importance of political appointees exercising sound judgment, especially on issues of public concern.
