After the announcement of the upgrade of the State College of Education in Ilesa to university Status by the Governor, the bill for it’s establishment was passed by the State House of Assembly.

The Implementation committee of the University headed by a renowned Professor Professor of Olu Aina is also not living any stone unturned towards ensuring the take-off of academic activities.

But Lecturers who are staff of the College are not happy with the Public Private Partnership arrangements of the State Government in the running of the University.

Led by the National Executives of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, they staged a peaceful protest calling on the attention of the state Government to the activities of the implementation committee.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Jamiu Olawumi described the Protest as uncalled for.

Academic activities are also expected to take-off in the university soon.

The lecturers say they want to be fully carried along in the implementation process of the Institution.
