The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has inspected state-of-the-art intelligence installations in the Idu community of Abuja, as the Nigeria Police Force intensifies its shift to intelligence-led policing to strengthen internal security.

The visit formed part of the Force’s strategic engagement with home-grown security innovators, notably EIB STRATOC, aimed at boosting technology adoption, data-driven operations and collaboration across Nigeria’s security architecture.

Accompanied by senior officers — DIG Ben Nebeolisa Okolo (Force Intelligence Department), DIG Adebowale Williams (ICT), AIG Adeleke Taiwo (Operations), CP Felix Obe (Federal Operations) and others — the IGP reaffirmed that intelligence gathering remains the bedrock of 21st-century policing.

He said the Force under his leadership is committed to harnessing technology, innovation and both indigenous and international expertise to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Egbetokun commended EIB STRATOC’s technical capacity and stressed that the partnership will enhance operational capability, improve response times, and deepen community trust through better information-sharing with critical stakeholders.

While no sensitive technical details were disclosed, the IGP noted that the facilities will support surveillance, analysis and coordinated field operations.

He called on security practitioners, industry experts and the public to work more closely with the Police and other agencies, urging timely sharing of credible information through lawful channels.

The IGP reiterated his commitment to deploying cutting-edge tools responsibly, upskilling personnel, and embedding intelligence-led methods across formations and units nationwide.
