The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, has concluded a 6-day duty tour of 6 Northern states to commission state-of-the-art projects completed by his administration.
The IGP also used the opportunity to build confidence of officers.
Alkali Baba stated that a similar road trip to commission projects in the country’s south will begin in earnest.
The police boss assured police officers of sustainable drives to protect lives and property within the country.

The IGP also commissioned projects which includes modern police stations with barracks, renovation of vital police infrastructure such as police training schools as well as buildings for tailoring department and the band section.
During the commissioning of the projects, the IGP and his team traveled by road and conducted patrols from Abuja to Kaduna, Kaduna to Kano, and Kano to Kazaure in Jigawa State as part of a confidence-building exercise.
They also patrolled from Kazaure to Dandagoro in Katsina State, Kano to Damaturu in Yobe State [via Jigawa and Bauchi], Damaturu in Yobe to Benisheik in Borno, and Benisheik to Maiduguri in Borno.
While assuring police officers of his administration’s commitment to establishing sustainable drives for the protection of lives and property within the country, the IGP stated that a similar road trip to commission projects in the country’s southern region will begin in earnest.
