With the signing, Ighalo becomes the first Nigerian footballer to play for the Red devils.

United failed with a late bid for Bournemouth striker Josh King before turning their attention to the former Watford player.

Ighalo is in pre-season training with Shenhua, but the new Chinese Super league has been delayed due to the escalation of the Corona virus.

A medical could be held in China as United try to close the deal before deadline.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, who spoke exclusively to TVC News, said the club’s management must give the coach every support required to recruit the best players.

Ferdinand featured for Manchester United from 2002 until 2014, scoring 7 goals in 312 matches for the Red Devils.

He confessed that he feels uncomfortable with United’s current form and position on the premier league table and urged the players to raise their standards.
