ICPC Chairman spearheads tech partnership with NITDA to combat corruption

Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, led a critical meeting with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) on Friday, emphasising the inclusion and integration of innovative technology in the fight against corruption and mapping areas of deployment of such technologies.
The Chairman’s visit to NITDA marks the beginning of a new era in the battle against corruption, emphasizing on the role of technology in attaining the ICPC’s mandate of enforcement, prevention, and popular mobilization against corruption. This is consistent with the ICPC’s commitment to adapting and evolving in a digital landscape.

Emphasising the role of technology, Dr. Aliyu stated, “With advancements in all sectors, adopting the best technologies in fighting and preventing corruption is crucial. Our partnership with NITDA is aimed at exploring support in digitising ICPC, enhancing transparency, accountability, and effectiveness, thereby boosting public confidence.”

Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General of NITDA, indicated preparedness to support the ICPC and shared insights into NITDA’s Digital Transformation Playbook. He emphasized that digital transformation is a continual process, emphasizing the significance of developing competencies for long-term success.

The conference also included discussions of forming a joint committee, symbolizing ICPC and NITDA’s continuous collaboration. This collaborative endeavor emphasizes the commitment to digital transformation as a continuous process, which is critical for a proactive strategy in the fight against corruption.
