Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan has debunked a report carried by some national dailies that he was mobbed and blocked by his constituents in Yobe North Senatorial District, over the weekend.
Raising a point of order at Tuesday’s plenary, Senator Lawan accused some media of promoting fake news, and requested an investigation into the matter by the senate.
Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu who presided, referred the issue to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
