The House of Representatives has called on the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of last Friday’s attack on commercial banks in Otukpo, Benue state.

The lawmakers have also invited the Central Bank Governor, Yemi Cardoso, on the recent foreign exchange reversal on 43 items.

Residents of Otukpo in Benue state are still dazed by last Friday’s attack on four commercial banks.

The incident left a Divisional Police Officer, three female police officers and some civilians dead.

Blessing Onuh represents the affected area in the House of Representatives.

She comes with a matter of urgent public importance to seek the arrest and prosecution of those behind the attack.

The legislator manages to control her emotions as she relays the devastating effects of the incident

Katsina lawmaker, Sada Soli, also rises on a matter of national importance to criticise the October 12 lifting of foreign exchange restrictions on 43 items by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The items include rice, cement, palm oil products, vegetable oils, meat, palm kernel and processed meat products.

Attempt to suspend the reversal was rejected by the House just as it invited the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, over the bank’s latest policy.

While the apex bank says it wants a unified market foreign exchange with flexible and transparent pricing, Sada Soli, argues it will place Nigeria’s local products at a disadvantage and may lead to job loss.
