Despite security warnings restricting movement during the Anambra State governorship election, several markets across the state remained lively on Saturday.
At Eke-Awka Market, petty traders displayed an array of goods, including potatoes, groundnuts, apples, and other food items, while some vehicles continued limited operations within the capital and surrounding areas.
In Mgbakwu, Awka North, the Nkwo Market also operated as usual.
Some traders, expressed disinterest in the election.

Eighty-year-old retiree Pa Morrison Okafor, however, said he felt it was his duty to vote for the candidate responsible for paying his pension.
He acknowledged that many in his age group do not participate in elections but emphasized that his sense of patriotism compelled him to exercise his franchise.
Security remained tight throughout the state, with four to five operatives stationed at each polling unit and helicopters patrolling the skies.
Despite the restrictions, some commercial vehicles were observed transporting passengers from Awka and Onitsha to Enugu, indicating that a portion of the population continued to travel even during the election period.
